Downloading the StarTrak program (for epoc32) and database files
Release e3.09 (16th June 2004) This page describes the version of StarTrak for the epoc32 platform, which includes the Psion Revo, Series 5, Series 7, Ericsson MC218 and the Oregon Scientific Osaris. The StarTrak program and database comprise four files. These files must be loaded into a top-level folder (called StarTrak) which you will need to create on your epoc32 computer.
These four files can be downloaded to your PC as a single self-extracting zip file called St_epocz.exe. After St_epocz.exe has been downloaded, double-click on its icon to extract the four files destined for the epoc32 computer, plus the readthis.txt file which gives further information Download self-extracting zipped StarTrak software
Create a top-level folder called StarTrak to hold these four files. This folder should be at the same 'level' as the 'Data', 'Documents' and 'OPL' folders:
(For further advice on using PsiWin, click here.)
You should locate the four files in this StarTrak folder:
If you now double-tap the StarTrak.opo program file, this will start StarTrak:
StarTrak's display is sized to suit not only the Series 5..5mx / Ericsson MC218, but also the smaller screens of the Revo and Oregon Scientific Osaris.
Probably the first thing you need to do is define your observatory's position:
The operation of the epoc32 version of StarTrak is substantially the same as for theSeries 3..3mx version of StarTrak.
